The primary function of the Physical Therapist / Occupational Therapist QA Specialist is to audit Home Health Agency therapy visit notes for documentation consistency with the patient’s therapy Plan of Care and adherence to the quality of care guidelines set by Medicare in the United States.
In this role you will:
- Review accuracy of patients’ therapy treatment plan of care
- Reference OASIS assessment and patient’s therapy evaluation to determine accuracy and completeness of visit notes
- Audit charts for clinical oversight and compliance with US Medicare guidelines
- Identify clinical & rehabilitation problem areas and document deficiency trends
- Communicate to clients’ administrative and clinical associate staff in the correction of these deficiencies
- Manage and submit daily QA work-log report
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Analytical, detail-oriented, organized and can work well under pressure
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy
- Active PRC license
- At least 1-year experience as a Physical Therapist (preferably in gerontology and home care)
- Working knowledge of rehab practices and procedures
- Understanding of therapy treatment plans
- Familiarity in navigating electronic medical records is a plus but not required
- Understanding of ICD-10 coding especially in the respective field a plus but not required
- Working knowledge of Medicare home health guidelines for therapy a plus but not required
